Volunteering in the orphanage is quite similar to the teaching projects in the day. You’ll be helping the teachers conduct their lessons, helping with drawings, sports, games and pupil learning. However there is an added dimension- you’ll be assisting with the general care of the orphans in the orphanage. Duties such as cleaning the dormitories and clothes and helping with the cooking of meals for the children, as well as playing with and entertaining them. It’s a fuller but more demanding role than that of school volunteering, as you will be building emotional bonds of care with the children and providing pastoral support. You can become very attached to some of the children you work with, and we’d look to help you maintain that attachment by sponsoring one of the children on your return home, should you wish to continue with such a relationship

In the volunteer house, there is a cook who cooks the meals for the volunteers.

Most special need schools in Tanzania have few qualified teachers and lack enough learning equipment. Volunteers need to understand that special needs children’s centers are a very new concept in Tanzania. There are very few special needs children’s centers in Tanzania and most of them are without qualified caretakers. The children do not stay in these special needs centers; they arrive in the morning and return home in the evening.

The centers lack the skilled personnel and relevant equipment to deliver the special care and attention needed to provide these children with a stimulating environment. They need volunteers to help with education and providing one on one stimulus and motivation. Volunteers may also be required to help with motion, lifting and handling, personal hygiene and other day to day tasks that the children simply cannot perform on their own.

Кроме работы с животными мы с вами будем заниматься таким интересным процессом, как обучение молодняка. Мы будем наблюдать, как из маленького глупенького жеребенка получается умная, взрослая, воспитанная лошадь. У нас есть как взрослые лошади, молодняк и даже старенькие лошадки, которым нужен очень бережный уход - они у нас не работают, а только гуляют и жуют травку.
Вы можете поучаствовать в разных мероприятиях, где участвуют наши животные. Мы проводим экскурсии для туристов, где у вас будет возможность увидеть, как горят глаза детей, когда они начинают общаться с лошадьми! Так же у нас есть козочки и трогательные козлята и им всем требуется внимание и нежное отношение.
По вечерам мы можем с вами жечь уютный костер, петь любимые ваши песни, и играть в разные интеллектуальные игры.
Мы делаем туристическую раскладку: вы приезжаете с продуктами или с деньгами на эти продукты и мы все вместе готовим еду по общему плану. У нас трехразовое полноценное правильное питание.

На самом деле мы можем обучить вас всему сами, главное, чтобы вам самому было интересно заниматься животными, чтобы вы любили их и первозданную природу. Мы будем ездить верхом, будем совершать походы на лошадях и устраивать пикники в красивых местах.

Волонтёрство - это помощь.
Оцените свои возможности реалистично: у нас вы будете ухаживать за животными, а значит придется поднять лопату навоза, ведро воды или овса, закинуть седло на коня.
*Будьте готовы, что кони какают😄 и за ними надо убирать

За вашу помощь, мы предоставим вам проживание, питание и возможность вдоволь общаться с нашими питомцами. Научим вас азам сельской верховой езды, познакомим с психологией лошадей, а если у вас будет получаться помогать, пригласим в серьёзный поход.
(Если быть помощником пока не получается, вы можете сходить в поход в качестве клиента, без обязанностей, просто насладиться Кавказом)

Бытовые условия у нас простые:
⛺️Можно жить в палатке, занять койко-место или комнату в летнем домике.
💧Туалет на улице вода, в колодце.
🛁Баню топим по надобности или два раза в неделю. Обмываться можно хоть каждый день.
🍏Питание предоставляется. Простейшие продукты: крупы, макароны, овощи, молочка своя (творог, сыр, Айран), мясо. Мы готовим по очереди, то есть готовить надо уметь хотя бы чуть-чуть (и желательно не спалить хату). Готовим на электро- или газовой плитке, иногда на дровяной печи.
Если у вас есть особенности питания, учитывайте, что у нас общий стол.
📞У нас есть связь и интернет, но только МТС. В поселке можно купить симку, чтобы всегда быть на связи.

Мы находимся в удивительно красивом и спокойном месте, вдали от городского шума и суеты. Выращиваем необычных кудрявых свиней, разводим правильных пчёл и заготавливаем ароматный иван-чай.

Мужская помощь нужна круглый год, женская с мая по сентябрь. Работа разная: что-то починить, покормить животных, нарубить дрова, навести порядок, приготовить. Убирать за свиньями не нужно, они очень чистоплотны, а вот чинить сломанные ограждения приходится постоянно )).

Проживание в гостевой комнате в доме, питание за общим столом (если вы придерживаетесь какой-то диеты или поститесь, обязательно сообщите об этом ДО приезда, что-нибудь придумаем).

Отличная рыбалка, грибы-ягоды в лесу и просто невероятная красота. Приезжайте!

Работа разная, вот основные задачи, но что-то может меняться, жизнь есть жизнь.

- Участие в строительных работах;

Условия в доме не такие комфортные, как, к примеру, в городской квартире, но всё необходимое есть.

Туалет в доме, душа нет. Вода из крана течёт только холодная. Интернет хороший, а вот электричество от солнышка. Это значит, что в пасмурные дни его может не хватать, берите с собой аккумуляторы. Зимой в доме может быть прохладно, поэтому тёплая одежда - это хорошо. Резиновые сапоги - это тоже замечательно ;)).

До ближайшего населённого пункта 9 км. Там есть два магазина, православный храм, медпункт и почта.

Volunteering in a daycare is quite similar to the teaching projects in the day. You’ll be helping the teachers conduct their lessons, helping with drawings, sports, games and pupil learning. However there is an added dimension- you’ll be assisting with the general care of the children in the Daycare. Duties such as cleaning the roooms and clothes and helping with the cooking of meals for the children, as well as playing with and entertaining them. It’s a fuller but more demanding role than that of school volunteering, as you will be building emotional bonds of care with the children and providing pastoral support. A typical Daycare in Tanzania is home to sixty children ranging in age from 2 to 7. A nursery school teaching program usually takes place during the day. Approximately 40 children in total will attend the nursery school. Volunteers in this teaching program help teachers to do their lessons, drawings, sports and games.

Roles of Volunteers and Interns



· Teach in one of our classes (we have four different classes at the moment)

· Provide children with HIV / AIDS prevention education

· Provide first aid/medical help to children

· Teaching the children about basic house holdings:

1. Cleaning of utensils

In Tanzania English language is learnt as a foreign language. English enjoys the status of a foreign language as most of the Tanzanians use their Ethnic Community Languages (ECLs) as the first language and Kiswahili being the second language (L2). If that being the case, then English is learnt as a third language which is vividly a foreign language (FL) As it can be seen in Zanzibar that the learning of English has being blooming since the government introduced the reform policy in 1986, the same can be observed in Tanzania whereby the learning of English has been enforced by the government decision in education policy that English language should be used as a medium of instruction in secondary schools as well as in higher learning institutions. Again, it is obvious that this decision is influenced by the presence of globalization, thus it is obvious that globalization has made English more valuable to many Tanzanians. The learning of English in Tanzania, the same as in Zanzibar, varied according to education level as English language is taught just as a single subject in primary schools, but in secondary schools, apart from Kiswahili which is taught as a single subject, all other subjects are taught in English language. Also, the learning of English language at tertiary level in Tanzania as in Zanzibar has become saturated as learning English at Universities now is more like learning a means to serve other purposes.

Accommodation
HOME STAY ACCOMMODATION

Living is basic but all the Home Stays have electricity and running water and accommodate volunteers in safe and secure homes (some rural home stays may not have electricity or running water during times of drought). All home stays have been inspected thoroughly by local staff and chosen because of their safety and security. Most volunteers love their home stays and feel that they get a more authentic Tanzanian experience by staying there.


VOLUNTEER HOUSE

The Volunteer House is a western-style house with 6 bedrooms (all shared accommodations with bunk beds). It has 2 bathrooms with western-style toilets and occasional hot water for showers.
