What you will be doing?
During your volunteer placement, you will be working with the academy managers and the coach. Most activities are teaching during school sports lessons and after school academy football training. School sports lessons are held during assigned class periods and academy training with Coach dodu start from 3:30pm onwards at the Obomeng Park.
There are other training sessions in the morning which volunteers can be involved. The activities are weekend football matches, joint training and seasonal kicking off tournament by our Partners. All events are open for volunteer involvement.
What we expect from Volunteers:
As an organization that thrives on volunteer placement, we always appreciate people who have the intention to join our volunteer program and make a change or introduce new skills and integrity. We stick to goals of integrity and knowledge to help sustain our operations.
With this we expect volunteers to exhibit enthusiasm and great passion in all activities with our team. Volunteers are not mandated to bring along sports products as donations but the lack of more dynamic training tools and skills development materials makes it difficult for volunteers to involve players in related activities.
It's only nice to get something for the lads. Things that are mostly donated during volunteer placement are football, blazers, jerseys, boots, football and other things volunteers want to share with the academy.

The Okwawu city soccer academy is an organization focused on leveraging sports to create hope for local sports talent, developing the Obomeng community and some twenty (20) sub communities. Our core operations factor the nurturing of football talents from the age of 10 to 15 respectively.
As a nonprofit organization working in Obomeng-kwahu, eastern-region Ghana, we welcome all volunteers interested in our goals to create community social impact and also give hope to the young football talents.

Placement is Free; volunteers will be living with our host family in Obomeng. However, volunteers will pay 10$ daily which can also be paid in full to support the running of the various necessity services like water and electricity among other facilities used at the host family. Volunteers will pay for their transport from Accra airport to placement area.
On your arrival at Kotoka Airport Accra, there will be our staff Nana or kwame who will pick you up and travel with you to Kwahu by state transport bus. Other expenses will be movement within the Kwahu area (variable cost). Our reliable taxi drivers will always be available to drive you around.
Volunteers will always move out with a guide until they've been able to learn the routes in the Kwahu environment. We trust our taxi drivers and they will be there always to escort you to locations of interest.
Make A Wish for Street & Slum Kids

A wonderful initiative to share happiness among street and slum children has been taken in Ajmer by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the support of Global Giving Foundation. Under this project, nutritious food, toys, sweets, new dress, chocolates are provided to street and slum children.
Efforts are taken continuously to enlighten the life of these unlucky children by means of fireworks, colors, water-guns, cake, etc on the occasion of festivals as Christmas, Diwali, Holi.
Demand of the Project
The life of slum and street children is surrounded by darkness. The sense of alienation of society leads them to get involved into immoral acts as theft, addiction, prostitution. Happiness is miles away from these children. They hardly get two meals a day. These unlucky and helpless children can never think of delicious food, toys, new clothes even in their dreams.
The society just gets them abuse, exploitation and the sense of alienation only which develops exasperation towards the society in their hearts. Lack of food leads them to suffer from malnutrition. Moreover, there life is full of darkness even on the occasions of festivals. Altogether, these slum and street children live their life in darkness staying miles away from happiness of childhood.
Make A Wish Program is Fulfilling the Dreams of those marginalized children living in the remote areas.

The Volunteers can do a Photography session or make documentary videos of all the work which we are doing with the marginalized people. We also have farming programs, so to educate the rural people about better farming techniques would be beneficial.

The payment of 300$ is for 5 days.
So the daily fees is 60$ in which 35$ id for the bed, 15$ is the travelling fees and 10$ is for the Whole day Meal.

Women Empowerment Centers (pre- and post-lunch):
There are about 30 women and teenage girls in each of our Empowerment centers in Jodhpur, who have little or no education. The teenage girls may have dropped out of school to look after their siblings, or may not have attended at all. These centers help to provide a good general education, (in addition to basic English, Hindi and Math) by providing workshops in a variety of topics, from Women’s Health and Nutrition to Politics and Geography. All these workshops (and more!) are on a Google Drive, accessible on arrival to Sambhali.
Usually, volunteers stay at one of our centers the whole day. They will get a lunch box from Durag Niwas Guesthouse and eat together with the local teachers and some students at their projects.

Teach English and Math to children in Rajasthan

Primary Education Centers (post-lunch): There are 4 centers in Jodhpur with approximately 30-40 children (boys and girls, 5-12 years old). These centers have been established to teach the children of the mothers’ who attend the empowerment centers and to extend this out to others. The aim is to provide a basic education in Hindi, English and Math to enable and encourage these children to go to school. For the very young children, art & craft and primary education workshops will also be given as well as general knowledge workshops on a weekly basis.
Usually, volunteers stay at one of our centers the whole day. They will get a lunchbox from Durag Niwas Guesthouse and eat together with the local staff and some of their students at their projects.

Help young girls with their homework and studying in Jodhpur, India

Girls Homes:
Sambhali Trust has 2 Boarding Homes for young girls who come from the rural desert area surrounding Setrawa, 110km west of Jodhpur: Sheerni and Laadli Boarding Home.
The aim is to provide these girls with a good education until 12th standard (final year at school) and college after to enable them to reach their potential and have better opportunities.
Volunteers visit the girls for 3 hours every afternoon (Monday-Friday) to provide extra tuition in English and Math, weekly educational workshops and sports/outdoor activities.
Additionally, they will play games with the girls, dance and read stories.

An administrative role would require the volunteer to have skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. Tasks can be varied depending on time of arrival, but can include PR, Fundraising, writing the monthly Sambhali Newsletter and updating Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Blog, Instagram). As Sambhali is linked to the United Nations, by being provided with Special Consultative Status, we aim to participate by developing campaigns in Jodhpur in a variety of topics surrounding women’s empowerment (eg End violence towards women) at least on a yearly basis. Volunteers in this role would help to organise these campaigns. This role can also be combined with a teaching role.

Где дышат не потому, что это приятно, а потому, что выбора нет. И только прожив несколько месяцев в уютной гармонии жизни начинаешь понимать... ты на самом деле прекрасна! Ты - жизнь порожденная своими стараниями. Она чиста, красива, добра, отзывчива и сильна. Таинство... где все - ты, ты это все. Мгновение за мгновением изменяя мир вокруг ты изменяешь себя. И это волшебство. Которое наполняет тебя. Рождая вдохновение от избытка благости изливать его в родной, уютный, чистый, светлый. Мир, который отвечает тебе взаимностью и непрестанно радуется тебе, тому, что ты делаешь и тому, что он делает с тобой. И даже не кажется... твердая уверенность в незыблемости этого таинства наполняет тебя и твой мир, делая его гораздо более реальным и нерушимым. Становясь непреодолимой преградой от мира ложного, где обман - норма жизни и даже в своей квартире невозможно обустроить свой, хотя бы маленький, но свой мир. Злость, корысть, пренебрежение, разврат стали нормой существования. Ради которого надо гнаться, надо быть впереди, уметь рвать, толкать и топтать. Иначе растопчут тебя. Это на столько въедается в душу, что нужен не один месяц, чтоб отмыться от этой грязи. И даже ключевая вода, наполненная густой силой, а не хлоркой и грязью, не в силах сразу излечить душевные раны. Они зарастают, природа сильна и из рода в род помогала растекаясь теплым морем заботы, понимания и удовольствия. И все это для тебя, от тебя. Размываются границы возможного и желанного. Ты - мир! Ты - жизнь! Ты - умница!

Разумное отношение к природе и домашнему хозяйству. В своих трудах создаем наш мир, который так же может стать и вашим! Неделю добросовестно работаем, в выходные получаем вознаграждение в виде интересных путешествий. Так же, по желанию помощниц, проводим мастер классы по обучению различным навыкам домашнего рукоделия (прядение из шерсти овец, ручное и машинное вязание, ручное и машинное шитье, макраме, лозоплетение и еще много много разных занятий для умелых ручек и добрых сердец. Готовы к сотрудничеству с интересными людьми, готовыми действительно помогать и сами учиться новому. И очень рассчитываем на дальнейшую продолжительную и добрую дружбу.
Условия
Кушать готовим с вами сами, взнос для волонтера установлен 1000 руб в неделю, направляется в расходы на продукты и бытовые мелочи. Для приезжающих повторно на срок от 14 дней взносы не уплачиваются. Для участников в проекте без перерыва более 70 дней, ранее уплаченные взносы возвращаются в полном обьеме. Вода и стиральная машинка имеются. Баня-хоть каждый день. Требуется физический посильный женский труд в огороде и с животными. Так же есть большая теплица. Если не боитесь обветрить свое прекрасное личико, испачкать колени и руки-добро пожаловать! Необходима женская помощь по дому и в хозяйстве, и даже оставаться в течении дня за "главную"!

Unfortunately, many women in slums in New Delhi finds themself in horrible situations like not being able to care for their children after their husbands death etc. Sonu gives these women opportunities to support themselves and their children through self-sustainable enterprises. Teaching the women different skills such as sewing, candle-making and running their own businesses is just a small step towards giving these women more freedom and confidence. This project, launched in 2017, enables former Thriveseed pupils to earn money by working as tour organisers. This not only provides former Thriveseed students with an income that they would not have otherwise had, but it also encourages current Thriveseed students to pursue their education to a high level so that they develop the maths, English and Hindi writing skills necessary to carry out this type of work. We accept all kind of help and are happy to share any of your gifts with our students. Of course, we do need assistance in our english, math and hindi classes, but you could also help out with teaching the women in the women's empowerment program handcraft that you know, make food in our community kitchen etc. We also love to teach the children new kind of games that you might know from your home country. You could also help with taking pictures and posting about our project on social media -Imagination is the only limit when it comes to helping out with our project.

When volunteering with us, you pay a one time registration fee of 15 USD. This goes directly to keeping our project running.
If you are choosing to stay with one of our host families, the price for accommodation and food is 120 USD each week. You are also free to stay other places, and will then not pay any fee other than the one time fee of 15 USD.
