We invite you to joun our workcamp of preservation of the landscape museum of wooden architecture, Kostroma, Russia. You will live and work with other volunteers, russian and forieners in friendly atmosphere.

The landscape preserve-museum of wooden architecture, folk architecture and life is located on a plot of 14 hectares, which is located to the south of the Ipatiev Monastery on the cape formed by the confluence of the Kostroma river into the Volga. The beginning of its creation dates back to 1955 and was associated with the flooding of the lower reaches of the Kostroma River as a result of the construction of the Gorky hydroelectric station. During this period, the Transfiguration Church (p. Spas-Vezhi) and 4 saunas (v. Vederki), which became the first exhibits of the museum, were transported from their place. They were located on the territory of the New Town of the Ipatiev Monastery. There are about 30 exhibits now in the museum of wooden architecture. The center of the museum complex is the established order of a conditional village street. Campus Dates: July 25, 2019, 12 days Leisure: • Inspection of historical and cultural attractions of the city • Walking tours • Acquaintance with a number of expositions of the Kostroma Regional preserve-museum, excursions to the jewelry center of Russia – Krasnoye village on the Volga river • A visit to the ancient Russian city of Nerekhta, with excursions (as agreed) of the Trinity-Sipanov Pakhomievo-Nerekhtsky monastery. Volunteers get to the city of Kostroma on their own.

Three, four and five-beds dormitories are provided for living by The Trade and Economic college of Kostroma. Beds are single-tier, bed linen, blanket, pillow, and bedspread. Individual bedside table. Wardrobe in each room is common. There are tables and chairs according to the number of persons in the room. In every block of 2 - 3 rooms, there is one bathroom with 2 sinks, 1 toilet, 1 shower. The college hostel has a shared shower for 5 booths of one-time use, laundry for self-washing, a room for drying clothes. Kitchen for self-cooking (warming up) food, the college hostel is located at the beginning of the second quarter from the central (Susaninskaya) area of the city. Meals: Three meals a day, breakfast – in the college canteen. The dining room is located in the building, the distance between the hostel and the dining room is four minutes by foot. Lunches – delivery to the site. Additionally – drinking water. Dinner – in the college canteen.
