The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is the UN organization that promotes volunteerism to support peace and development worldwide.

Duration of the project is 12 months Expected Starting Date: Immediate The UN Resident Coordinator is the designated representative of the UN Secretary-General for development activities and the team leader of the UN Country Team, which in Moldova it is composed of 18 resident and non-resident UN agencies. She/he assumes the overall responsibility for and coordination of the development activities of the UN carried out at country level. Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Special Assistant to the Resident Coordinator, the UNV Programme Officer supports the RC Office and the UNCT to coordinate the work of the UN entities in Moldova with a focus on youth initiatives and volunteering, facilitates the implementation of the SDGs by encouraging and promoting volunteerism and muti-stakeholder partnerships, and assesses the legal and policy environment relating to volunteerism in the country. The Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) comprises the posts of Peace and Development Advisor, Coordination Analyst, M&E Analyst, Communication Analyst, and Administrative Assistant. Qualifications/Requirements Required Degree Level: Master degree or equivalent Education: Master’s degree in Economics, Public Administration, Social Science or any related field Required experience: 48 months Experience Remark: - Previous experience with the UN, particularly in the area of volunteering, awareness of SDGs related policy matters; - Capacity to liaise and work collaboratively with different networks including UNCT, state institutions, CSOs, youth organisations; - Demonstrated experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems; - Good communication skills - oral and written. Language Skills: English (mandatory), Level - Fluent

The Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) is paid at the end of each month to cover housing, utilities, transportation, communications and other basic needs. The VLA can be computed by applying the PostAdjustment Multiplier (PAM) to the VLA base rate of US$ 1,602. The VLA base rate is a global rate across the world, while the PAM is duty station/country-specific and fluctuates on a monthly basis according to the cost of living. Allowances provided are: - volunteer living allowance: a monthly allowance intended to cover basic living expenses - travel expenses: for travel to duty station upon appointment and for repatriation at the end of the assignment - settling-in-grant: a grant calculated on the duration of assignment, paid at the beginning of the assignment - insurances: life, health and permanent disability insurance - annual leave - resettlement allowance: calculated based on the duration of assignment, paid upon satisfactory completion of the assignment.
