Volunteers will gain a combination of practical, social and personal skills during the DREAM SCHOOL ACTION project. The main learning outcomes include: Practical Skills: Volunteers will acquire hands-on experience in cleaning, maintenance and basic improvement of school facilities and outdoor spaces. They will learn how to organize and carry out practical tasks in an educational environment, contributing to the care and functionality of spaces used daily by children and young people. Social and Intercultural Skills: Through teamwork in an international group and interaction with the local educational community, volunteers will develop communication skills, intercultural awareness and a stronger understanding of cultural diversity. The project promotes cooperation, teamwork and shared responsibility while working towards common goals. Personal Development: Participation in the camp helps volunteers develop a sense of responsibility and engagement with the local community. They will strengthen their adaptability, problem-solving skills and confidence while working in a dynamic team environment. By the end of the camp, participants will have gained practical experience, new friendships and a better understanding of how volunteering can support local communities.

International volunteers will help improve outdoor and common spaces of local schools in Salvaterra de Magos. The activities aim to make the school environment safer, more pleasant and welcoming for children and young people. The project is organized together with the Salvaterra de Magos School Cluster. Volunteers will support simple improvement and maintenance work at the school, helping create better spaces for students and the local community.

1. Cleaning and Maintenance of School Spaces: Cleaning and organizing school buildings, outdoor areas and common spaces. 2. Improvement of Outdoor and Recreational Areas: Repairing, painting and maintaining outdoor school furniture; organizing and improving recreational areas to make them safer and functional. 3. Maintenance of School Gardens and Green Areas: Basic maintenance of school gardens and green spaces. 4. Support in Space Organization: Assisting in the organization and preparation of indoor and outdoor school spaces. 5. Support to the Educational Community: Working together with the school community to help keep the spaces clean, welcoming and respectful for everyone. All tasks will be carried out in close coordination with the School Cluster management and camp leaders, ensuring safety, organization and respect for the daily functioning of the educational environment.

Accommodation is in a shared open space, without separated rooms, with male and female volunteers sleeping in the same area. Bathroom facilities are separated for male and female volunteers. Mattresses are provided; volunteers must bring a sleeping bag. Food is provided by the organisation. Breakfast is prepared individually by volunteers. Dinner is cooked by volunteers on a rotation basis. Lunch is usually prepared by the organisation. Volunteers have to bring: clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor activities, including comfortable and older clothes suitable for manual work, sturdy shoes and, if possible, working gloves; a raincoat/ waterproof jacket and boots; sleeping bag, reusable water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, personal hygiene items, a towel and any necessary personal medication. Optionally, volunteers may bring a camera/smartphone, a small backpack for day trips, a notebook with a pen.
