Duration of volunteering is 6 months. Expected Starting Date - Immediate. Results/Expected Outputs: - Translate all campaign related outputs (website, stories, infographics) - Create social media copy to support UN Environment campaigns - Translate all stories and press releases produced by UN Environment - Translate all regional web pages - Professionally translated documents and publications and online information needed. Education University degree in linguistic studies/Translation Degree, translation from French into English language. Having passed the United Nations Competitive Examination for French and English language Translators an added advantage. A combination of a postgraduate degree and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the competitive examination requirement.

The UNV will be expected to: French translator is located in Digital Strategy Unit of UN Environment Communication Division, reporting to Head Digital Strategy. The incumbent will perform the following functions: - Provide French Web Master service - Provide French Social Media service - Translate different types of content such as press releases, infographics, select publication, stories, etc from English to French and makes these available on various channels. - and more.

The Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) is paid at the end of each month to cover housing, utilities, transportation, communications and other basic needs. The VLA can be computed by applying the Post-Adjustment Multiplier (PAM) to the VLA base rate of US$ 1,602. UNV provides life, health, permanent disability insurances as well as assignment travel, annual leave, full integration in the UN security framework (including residential security reimbursement)
