Кэмпхилльское движение наиболее развито как организационная форма социально-педагогической помощи лицам с ограниченными возможностями в Великобритании и Ирландии. Аналоги кэмпхилльских общин появляются в последнее время и в России.
Одна из таких общин находится в Смоленской области в деревне Пересветово. Это мы =)

Наша основная деятельность в кемпхилле - это социальная работа.
В нашей деревне сильны традиции кемпхилльского движения.
Жильем и питанием волонтера обеспечиваем. Если вы на долгий срок, то возможно официальное трудоустройство. В труд. книжке будет запись "социальный работник". Плюс небольшая зарплата.
Работа - сопровождение наших подопечных, организация мероприятий, уход, помощь в гигиенических процедурах. Горшки выносить не надо, но быть готовым к тому, что надо помочь подстричь ногти или почистить зубы вашему подопечному.
И еще есть небольшая мастерская, где мы валяем шерсть, изготавливаем различные изделия из шерсти. В летнее время выращиваем свой фирменный чай разных видов. Хозяйство - на экологических принципах био-динамического земледелия. Никакой химии.
Сейчас у нас два дома и одна мастерская. Население кемпхилла - 15 человек вместе с подопечными. В дальнейшей перспективе возможно расширение деревни до 6 домов. Участок - 2 га. Приоритетное направление - инклюзивные мастерские и сельское хозяйство.
Коллектив - дружный. В настоящее время нас 5 постоянных сотрудников. Живем в двух новых, больших и просторных домах с отоплением, водой, канализацией. И даже с вайфаем.
Выезд в цивилизацию возможен раз в неделю в ваш выходной. До Смоленска электричка добирается за час. Билет стоит где-то 70-80 рублей. Связь - лучше МТС или Мегафон.

Вид работ

Основная деятельность - это сопровождение, помощь и уход за людьми с ментальной инвалидностью, а также организация мероприятий для подопечных.
Период с середины весны, лето и первая половины осени - это время, когда мы занимаемся земледелием. Помимо обычных дел в огороде (картошка-морковь-капуста) мы выращиваем лекарственные травы и делаем из них фиточаи. Вторая половина осени, зима и начало весны - это время работы в мастерской. Там мы валяем шерсть, изготавливаем различные полезные изделия из шерсти. В планах сделать столярную и свечную мастерскую.
Периодически появляется работа на свежем воздухе. Например, расколоть дрова, поработать в огороде, убрать снег на территории кемпхилла, затопить печь в доме и т.д. и т.п.

Soft skills

We train the girls (with history of gender based violence abuse) such as sexual abuse, female genital mutilation, child and forced marriage to equip them with skills in handcrafts, computer skills, tailoring among others.

Girls not Brides Camp

Aims at equipping the girls with the right information about their Sexual health so that they make informed decision about their sex life. Make them aware of any kind of a abuse and how to manage and protect themselves against these forms of sexual abuse.

School Mentorship

The Organization adopt schools, train students and teachers on life skills in order to create a homelike environment that supports learning and provides a supportive environment for the students to work hard and improve in their performance.

Their focus has been providing accurate information through education primarily to the adolescent girl and at the secondary level and to the community including boys and men.

They do this using innovative games, lively charts, models and materials and focus on mentorship, instilling confidence in the younger ones to be bold, especially during their season of physical and emotional changes.
They have been able to directly reach over 2500 adolescents, over 500 community actors and launched sustainable programs in primary and secondary schools, churches and institutions. These programs are implemented by a pool of volunteers who are trained in Menstrual Hygiene Management and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights.

Projects:

The month of May is International menstrual hygiene management (MHM) and awareness month.

a). They’ve organized two MHM Education session scheduled for Secondary schools, and support of products through our ‘Paddie Bank’ project which provides menstrual products, soap and underwear to beneficiaries.

b). A reproductive health medical camp for the public, providing free gynecologist consultations, contraceptive advice, HIV tests and raise funds to pay for cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccines for 500 women and girls.

c). Continuation with programs in community schools, with adolescents providing MHM and SRHR Education, finishing off with launch of Paddie Banks and mentorship sessions under ‘My Bold Voice’ program.

d). A Charity Dinner fundraiser on 25th August, to seek new partnerships and support, including opportunities to build the capacity of 50 local volunteers.

It is a non-partisan, non-religious, humanitarian community organization registered under the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Services and has been working in Nairobi, Kenya to restore the dignity of the individuals and families living in the streets, street-connected situations and in slums with a focus on children and youth development. Streetwise Transformers is working directly with and for vulnerable and excluded people.

Streetwise Transformers commit to work with children, youths and women to claim and realize their rights and potentials through working within six thematic areas; Education and skills development, Health programing, Sports and talent development, Outreaches, Empowerment/Mentorship, Advocacy and Lobbying to influence policies touching on children and youth.

On-going Projects

a). Arts Therapy Program activity among the children and youth living and working in street and street-connected situations to improve on their artistic talents. Arts include but not limited to painting, drawing, design, story-telling and crafts.

b). Mental Health using safe open spaces for the marginalized vulnerable children and youth living and working in the streets and street-connected environments to engage in creative and fun psychological activities to play, socialize, learn, interact and express themselves as they embody to rebuild their lives and childhood. Mental health encompasses trauma, stigma, anxiety, stress, depression or various neurological disorders.

All these is meant to enhance the children’s emotional well-being at all ages through artistic self-expression helping people to resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness as well as achieve high insight. The organization also strives to reintegrate children back to their families and where possible support them in schools or vocational training.

Volunteering in the orphanage is quite similar to the teaching projects in the day. You’ll be helping the teachers conduct their lessons, helping with drawings, sports, games and pupil learning. However there is an added dimension- you’ll be assisting with the general care of the orphans in the orphanage. Duties such as cleaning the dormitories and clothes and helping with the cooking of meals for the children, as well as playing with and entertaining them. It’s a fuller but more demanding role than that of school volunteering, as you will be building emotional bonds of care with the children and providing pastoral support. You can become very attached to some of the children you work with, and we’d look to help you maintain that attachment by sponsoring one of the children on your return home, should you wish to continue with such a relationship

Accommodation
HOME STAY ACCOMMODATION

Living is basic but all the Home Stays have electricity and running water and accommodate volunteers in safe and secure homes (some rural home stays may not have electricity or running water during times of drought). All home stays have been inspected thoroughly by local staff and chosen because of their safety and security. Most volunteers love their home stays and feel that they get a more authentic Tanzanian experience by staying there.


VOLUNTEER HOUSE

The Volunteer House is a western-style house with 6 bedrooms (all shared accommodations with bunk beds). It has 2 bathrooms with western-style toilets and occasional hot water for showers. The house also includes one double bedroom, and this room is generally reserved for married couples. The house is safe and secure, with a security guard and a large gate. In the volunteer house, there is a cook who cooks the meals for the volunteers.
(Please note that spaces in the volunteer house are very limited and can only accommodate 18 to 24 people).

You will be provided with 2 meals daily. Breakfasts generally consist of Chai (tea), toast, cereal, fruit and mandazzi (deep fried dough). Dinner usually sees traditional food such as ugali, chapatti, boga and irio accompany the meat and vegetables.

There is a lot to see and do in Tanzania and we expect you to use your weekends to the fullest in doing Safaris and tours.
Tanzania is home to some of Africa’s most famous parks and the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the Serengeti. Most visitors will find themselves passing through Dar Es Salaam and heading out on safaris and various wildlife viewing adventure. For those who want to take a break and spend some time soaking up the sun, the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar beckon. Off Pemba and Mafia Island is a whole other kind of natural wander.
