Duration of volunteering is 12 months. Expected Starting Date - Immediate. Purpose for the job: The Adolescent Development Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process to support the integration of adolescent development and participation in programs within the Country Program. Under direct supervision of the Deputy Representative and in coordination of other section chiefs, the Officer is responsible for preparing and implementing UNICEF Belarus engagement on adolescent development and participation programme. In the Belarus Office, the issue of adolescence is a cross-cutting, priority area and one which has the Government’s attention as well. Critical policy steps are being developed and the Adolescent Development Officer would be expected to take a lead in building the national and regional dialogue and providing technical contributions to policy and programme. Education: A university degree (Bachelor degree or equivalent) in anthropology, psychology, sociology, education or other social science field is required. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in social development planning and management in adolescent development related areas at the international level, with some preferably conducted in transitional or middle-income country level.

The Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) is paid at the end of each month to cover housing, utilities, transportation, communications and other basic needs. The VLA can be computed by applying the Post-Adjustment Multiplier (PAM) to the VLA base rate of US$ 1,602. UNV provides life, health, permanent disability insurances as well as assignment travel, annual leave, full integration in the UN security framework (including residential security reimbursements).
