We have set out on a long mission for the sake of children. We need the help of volunteers who love children, volunteers who are genuinely interested in our mission to eliminate literacy and education inequalities in our local communities.
Teaching in a Basic School/Junior High Schools The main duties of a Volunteer Teacher basic School in Ghana will be to assist the local teachers with English lessons. However, your presence and involvement in every aspect of their schooling will be an invaluable contribution to the children involved in this project. From English conversation and writing skills, to sports activities and games, your participation and simply your presence will have a huge and beneficial impact on these children. Volunteer- Creative Arts with Kids This is a great program for creative volunteers as they will have the opportunity to design and implement recreational and educational activities for the children. Volunteers will also work on interesting subjects such as devising new ideas for the children, preparing lesson plans, helping and organizing fundraising events, and other marketing activities to improve the outcomes of the project. Volunteer - Orphanage Work In Ghana • Helping with the teaching of the children regarding manners, English language, daily chores, hygiene, and anything to better their lives. Volunteers are helping to develop better learning materials and lesson plans as well. • General care such as cooking for the children’s meals or organizing sports and play activities to promote the well-being of the children. • Building/improving the facilities to make it feel more like home for the children: by painting pictures on the walls etc. • Assisting orphanage workers in offering moral support and guidance to the children, training of basic life skills and any activities for various rehabilitative programs in the orphanages. • Creating and teaching the children various arts and sport activities that make creative use of their time and hone their hidden skills and talents! Teaching ICT in Ghana Volunteers with computer knowledge can to teach students from the local school about computer usage, computer programs, internet safety, and computer maintenance. It would be fantastic if volunteers would work with some local adults on computer maintenance so small problems with the computers could be fixed even if no volunteers are there.
